Hello!

I’m Carolyn, the trainer, the heart and soul behind Good Dog Training. I’m a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and have been training dogs for over 10 years using reward-based methods. I’m a Spokane native who has volunteered in shelters, fostered for rescue, and competed in AKC obedience. My passion is working with reactive dogs.

My mission is to empower and guide you through your dog training journey with compassion and empathy.

My Values

I WILL ALWAYS TREAT YOU AND YOUR DOG WITH RESPECT + KINDNESS

I WANT TO EMPOWER YOU TO FEEL CONFIDENT WITH YOUR DOG.

I LOVE LEARNING AND SHARING THAT KNOWLEDGE WITH YOU!

Why Choose Me?

Feeling overwhelmed by the search for the right dog trainer?

With countless options out there—different credentials, prices, and methods—it’s tough to know who to trust. Many owners have already been through the frustration of working with other trainers, only to feel unheard or stuck without solutions.

It’s normal to worry about being judged, being told your dog is beyond help, or needing to use uncomfortable methods. And, of course, there’s always the fear of investing time and money without seeing results.

But imagine discovering your dog’s true potential, feeling the relief as behavior improves, and the joy of realizing just how smart and capable your dog really is. With the right approach, those stressful behavior problems can become a thing of the past. The right trainer will make all the difference, helping you and your dog succeed together.

My Good Dogs:

Gauge, 15 years

The dog who got me into training, Gauge is laidback and easygoing. He is a true mutt, with his breeds including heeler, Akita, and Brittany Spaniel. He is my longtime helper for reactive dogs.

Ellie, 14 years

A foster failure, Ellie joined me as a scared puppy from the shelter. She is a nervous, formerly feral dog, so you won’t see her much! Ellie is also a mutt, with her breeds including pit bull and German shepherd.

Olive, 1 year

Olive is a sassy border collie/heeler mix, who you’ll probably hear before you see. She enjoys bossing Oak around, chasing birds, going running with me, and screaming after bicycles.

Oak, 1 year

Oak came all the way from a breeder in Scotland and is a world traveler! Oak is a mama’s boy who loves his flirt pole, attacking the sprinkler, and chewing up my sunglasses.
